Status and solidarity

When the farmers decorated their farmhouses, and they created their own folk art at the same time.

During their many business trips, they got inspiration from both city and manor environments, and wanted to display an elegant totality in a similar manner in their own homes, even if they did not have access to similar materials to do that with.

So where funds ended, imagination and the paintbrush began. Instead of purchasing expensive stone or gorgeous wood, it was simply painted on. Not only to triumph each other with elegance, but also to create solidarity among themselves and to mark their position against those on the outside. This is one of the reasons that many techniques and motifs often can  be recognized within the same parish.
